Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (04/03/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 15,901 analyzes were carried out today and 1,262 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 1,262 new cases, 544 are from Montevideo, 200 from Canelones, 69 from Rivera, 52 from Salto, 49 from Maldonado, 49 from Paysandú, 49 from San José, 43 from Soriano, 38 from Colonia, 33 from Cerro Largo, 32 from Artigas, 30 from Río Negro, 23 from Lavalleja, 16 from Florida, 13 from Rocha, 10 from Flores, 6 from Treinta y Tres, 5 from Tacuarembó and 1 from Durazno. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 1,417,805 tests have been processed and 113,904 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 89,035 have already been recovered.

Today 30 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were confirmed in our country. They are 1 patient from Artigas, 85 years old, 1 patient from Florida, 69 years old, 1 patient from Maldonado, 85 years old, 1 patient from Rocha, 65 years old, 1 patient from San José, 67 years old, 2 patients from Cerro Largo de 39 and 59 years old, 2 patients from Durazno aged 73 and 84 years old, 2 patients from Río Negro aged 81 and 88 years old, 2 patients from Soriano aged 58 and 101 years old, 3 patients from Canelones aged 71, 76 and 85 years old, 3 patients de Rivera aged 57, 67 and 79 years and 11 patients from Montevideo aged 69, 72, 73, 75, 75, 81, 81, 82, 90, 96 and 96 years. So far there are 1,071 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 23,798 active cases, that is, people who are suffering from the disease, 384 of them are in intensive care.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 5,053 correspond to health personnel. 4,408 of them have already recovered, 638 are suffering from the disease and 7 have died.
As of today, the 19 departments have active cases.

CLARIFICATION:
The total of confirmed positive cases until yesterday was 111,568. Today 1,262 new cases and a total of 113,904 confirmed positive cases are reported. The difference is explained because 1,077 cases reported out of date by laboratories were included according to the tables attached below (source: MSP), and on the other hand, because 3 cases were eliminated.
