Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (02/19/2022)

Epidemiological report:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 14,136 tests were carried out and 4,367 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 4,367 new cases, 2,078 are from Montevideo, 693 from Canelones, 223 from Colonia, 174 from Maldonado, 132 from Paysandú, 124 from Florida, 111 from San José, 89 from Durazno, 87 from Tacuarembo, 86 from Cerro Largo, 74 from Salto, 70 from Lavalleja, 70 from Rocha, 70 from Treinta y Tres, 68 from Rivera, 63 from Soriano, 55 from Flores, 52 from Río Negro and 48 from Artigas.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 5,605,192 tests have been processed and 812,367 have been registered positive cases of Coronavirus throughout the national territory. Of that total, 765,633 have already recovered.

Today, 11 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were registered in our country (detailed table is attached). So far there are 6,865 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 39,869 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 151 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 17,592 correspond to health personnel. 17,016 of them have already recovered, 547 are suffering from the disease and 29 have died.

To date, all departments register active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total number of confirmed positive cases as of yesterday was 808,012. Today 4,367 new cases are reported and a total of 812,367 confirmed positive cases. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 12 cases were eliminated.
