Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (02/07/2021)

Epidemiological report:

According to the information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), 4835 analyzes were carried out today and 499 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected. Of the 499 new cases, 286 are from Montevideo, 58 from Canelones, 35 from Tacuarembó, 25 from Rivera, 15 from Paysandú, 13 from San José, 12 from Cerro Largo, 12 from Maldonado, 11 from Colonia, 7 from Durazno, 6 from Lavalleja, 6 from Soriano, 4 from Artigas, 3 from Rocha, 3 from Treinta y Tres, 2 from Salto and 1 from Florida. In all cases, strict epidemiological monitoring is carried out.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 889,159 tests have been processed and 45,311 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total 38,976 have already been recovered.

Today 9 deaths from Coronavirus were confirmed in our country. They are 1 patient from Maldonado, 57 years old and 8 patients from Montevideo, 60, 63, 63, 64, 77, 78, 91 and 95 years old. So far there are 490 deaths from COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 5,845 active cases, that is, people who are developing the disease, 81 of them are in intensive care and none in intermediate care.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 2,592 correspond to health personnel. 2,266 of them have already recovered, 321 are suffering from the disease and 5 have died.

As of today in the 19 departments there are active cases.
