Situation report on coronavirus COVID-19 in Uruguay (02/03/2022)

Epidemiological report:

According to information provided by the Ministry of Public Health (MSP), today 27,460 tests were carried out and 10,026 new cases of Coronavirus COVID-19 were detected.

Of the 10,026 new cases, 4,543 are from Montevideo, 1,287 from Canelones, 678 from Maldonado, 352 from Tacuarembó, 337 from Colonia, 322 from Paysandú, 311 from Cerro Largo, 259 from San José, 247 from Soriano, 218 from Lavalleja, 217 from Río Negro, 215 from Rivera, 195 from Florida, 177 from Salto, 164 from Rocha, 150 from Artigas, 136 from Treinta y Tres, 121 from Durazno and 97 from Flores.

Since the health emergency was declared on March 13, 2020, 5,303,071 tests have been processed and 700,511 positive cases of Coronavirus have been registered throughout the national territory. Of that total, 627,307 have already recovered.

Today, 39 deaths with a diagnosis of SARS-CoV-2 were registered in our country (detailed table is attached). So far there are 6,579 deaths diagnosed with COVID-19 in Uruguay.

There are currently 66,625 active cases, that is, people who are experiencing the disease, 157 of them are in critical care centers.

Of the total confirmed positive cases, 15,467 correspond to health personnel. 14,339 of them have already recovered, 1,099 are suffering from the disease and 29 have died.

To date, all departments register active cases.

CLARIFICATION:

The total number of confirmed positive cases as of yesterday was 690,496. Today 10,026 new cases are reported and a total of 700,511 confirmed positive cases. The difference is explained because, according to the MSP, 11 cases were eliminated.
