According to the latest update from the city’s flood protection experts, the situation of the Danube in the Linz city area is stable, the city reported on Saturday afternoon
The measures already taken on Friday (construction of phase 1 of the Alturfahr-West flood protection dam) are sufficient in view of the current forecasts.
The streams flowing into the Mühlviertel – Dießenleitenbach, Haselbach, Höllmühlbach and Katzbach – are currently showing rising water levels, but the situation is currently not classified as critical.
However, in coordination with the professional fire brigade, the city of Linz took the following precautionary measures:
Dießenleitenbach: The wooden bridge in the underpass of the Linzerstrasse–Freistädterstrasse footpath was lifted out by the professional fire department’s crane. The underpass is completely closed. The Linzerstrasse–Freistädterstrasse passage is partially flooded and already closed
Haselbach estuary: At the mouth of the Haselbach in the collecting channel, the two aluminum bridges were dug out by the Linz professional fire department. The Haselbach-Freistädter Straße and Haselbach-Sammelgerinne underpasses are closed
Haselbach/Galvanistraße: The access road at Galvanistraße 24 (near the Biesenfeldbad school) was closed off by the Road, Bridge and Hydraulic Engineering Department with mobile flood protection elements
