US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken held a telephone conversation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nagayan. “Today I spoke with UAE Foreign Minister Abdullah bin Zayed about Russia’s increasing military presence at the borders of Ukraine and other important bilateral and regional issues,” the US Foreign Minister wrote.
According to the State Department, the parties also raised other issues, including events in Yemen, Ethiopia and Sudan.
In addition, Blinken congratulated the UAE on winning the seat of a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council earlier in the year.
