The incident took place in Sidetapa Village, Banjar Sub-district, Sri Lanka Regency Buleleng, Bali. The two teenagers were beaten by TNI members because they hit the head of the Buleleng Dandim from behind. After the teenager hit the Dandim, another TNI member spontaneously beat the two of them.
The Dandim of Buleleng, Lt. Col. Muhammad Windra, said the incident happened suddenly. He said that the information on social media was only a piece or not complete.
“I was hit in the head from behind, then I was confused as to who was it mukul me, well that’s when the members on my right and left immediately spontaneously, because he knew, that person was beaten (by the members). So the one on Instagram is only a piece of their version,” explained Lt. Col. Windra when contacted detik.com, Monday (23/8/2021).
Windra said the incident began when his party did swab test antigens in the village. Swab test The antigen was carried out because previously there were 27 people who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 and 2 people died.
Swab done for needs tracing. Before the beating. there have been as many as 104 people who have beenswab test antigen and obtained 4 Corona positive people.
According to Windra, swab test Antigen is done by capturing people passing by on the streets. This was done because the people there did not want to betesting and tracing.
“So one of the efforts made is to catch people passing by on the road. They are directed to carry out random testing for antigens,” he explained.
When the officers were netting the residents, a motorbike rider with a teenager who was still a student arrived. They were directed by joint officers to berapid test antigen.
“Only this child he did not want, then he fled by first hitting our officers and immediately fled in a sporadic way. Then after that he came back again then he (said) ‘what are you doing you stand in my way’. The delivery is so that members approach and attract the person concerned,” he explained.
He said the two teenagers were students. The family also refused the teenager to be tested for rapid antigen.
“This student is still struggling and fighting and saying things that are not good so we sit him down. His father also came, then I approached to be together there, calm down first, we will antigen first. But then the father still pulls his son home, ” he added.
That’s when suddenly one of the young men hit the head of the Dandim from behind. As a result, other TNI members spontaneously immediately beat the person concerned.
Residents Are Asked Not to See Videos Only Pieces
Kapenrem 163/Wira Satya Major Arm Ida Bagus Putu Diana Sukertia asked for the viral incident of the TNI to beat residents because the head of the Dandim was beaten to be seen in its entirety. Because the viral TNI hitting residents only shows a piece of the incident.
“Responding to what is circulating on social media (short videos circulating) please see it in its entirety, not just a piece without seeing what the initial cause or process was,” said Major Arm Ida Bagus, quoted from Between, Tuesday (24/8/2021).
It asked citizens to know for sure the initial cause of the incident, so as not to give rise to excessive speculation from the viral video.
As a result of the incident, implementation swab antigen in the village of Sidetapa temporarily suspended.
