“It is to alert our hierarchy and demand things that are due to us” affirms Marion Ollivier, SNES-FSU representative in the Bouches-du-Rhône.
This morning, Tuesday, September 21, 2021, teachers organized a “sitting” with the students at the college Chateau Forbin in the 11e arrondissement of Marseille to alert on the lack of staff. “We encounter difficulties on a daily basis” confides the representative of SNES-FSU.
Difficulties since the start of the school year
“We ask that the situation be resolved quickly”, we can read in a leaflet sent to us by this PE teacher. The document has been distributed in a sealed envelope and is intended for parents of students in the establishment.
“Things have to change” asserts Marion Ollivier and lists a significant lack of staff within the Château Forbin college:
“The head of the establishment is on sick leave and not replaced to date, since October 2020 there is no longer a director of SEGPA, a math teacher has still not been replaced since last year, two technical agents have not been replaced either… ”
No math lessons since the start of the school year
A lack that has repercussions on the education of these college students. While teachers were hoping for the arrival of a new math teacher in early September, the post remains vacant to this day, despite management’s request.
Consequence: “The students have not taken maths lessons since the start of the school year” regrets Marion Ollivier. Two days before a national strike in the education sector, the teachers of the college want “the situation to unblock quickly” and ask for the support of the parents of the students.
Another sitting took place in the same college, at the end of the day, from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m.
