Sites report that Ghost of Tsushima loses “PlayStation Exclusive” on the cover; is not the only change

Several sites have reported in recent days that the cover of Ghost of Tsushima lost the “Only for PlayStation” (Only on PlayStation) information at the top. Some of these sites include VGC, Push Square and several others.

Because of that, the first conclusion everyone draws from this is that the Sucker Punch Productions game is on its way to the PC. It’s not impossible, considering we’ve already had Horizon Zero Dawn e Days Gone.

But there are three points that need to be emphasized and everyone is ignoring them. The first one is that this information is old. In Brazil, copies have been circulating without the exclusivity information for a few months. The second point is that no one seems to have noticed that Sony simply changed the phrase by adding the PlayStation Studios logo. It may be that the company no longer uses that phrase on its covers precisely because it already has the PS Studios logo – which brings us to the third point: this could simply be a new standard from Sony.

Games released in late 2020 that are exclusive, like Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales e Sackboy: A Great Adventure, do not have “PlayStation Only”. Not only that, but no PS5 exclusive games came with it (like Returnal e Ratchet and Clank: In Another Dimension, for example). This only reinforces that the company may want to retire this highlight and not necessarily Ghost of Tsushima will be released for PC.

Again, it’s not impossible for us to see Jin’s adventure on Steam and Epic Games Store, but the removal of the phrase doesn’t mean “PC version confirmed” and that’s what we want to emphasize.
