At a joint wedding in an Indian village in the state of Madhya Pradesh, two sisters were mistakenly married to the newlyweds due to a power outage, the Daily Mail reported. During the joint wedding ceremony, the lights suddenly went out, but the priest continued the ceremony and unwittingly confused the couples in the dark.
According to the sisters’ father Ramesh Lal, the confusion also came from the fact that the two brides were dressed in red dresses and their faces were covered with veils. According to tradition, Indian men also cover their faces with a veil of flowers during the wedding ceremony.
The error was later corrected.
Earlier, it was reported that a priest mistakenly married a man and a woman who were the best man at the wedding. They signed the marriage registration document as witnesses, but the priest still confused the names and treated them as newlyweds. And instead of witnesses, he entered the real marriages.
