“Sister Wives” Reality TV Show: Challenges and Controversies surrounding Kody Brown and His Polyamorous Family

In the reality series “Sister Wives”, viewers get to know a somewhat non-traditional family. We are introduced to Kody Brown (54) and his four wives: Janelle (54), Christine (51), Meri (52) and Robyn (44). In total, he has 18 children.

Now Brown is admittedly left with only one wife, Robyn.

Over the years, the series has received a lot of attention, which has presented challenges for the Brown children.

In a YouTube-video says Gwendlyn Brown (21), daughter of Kody and Christine, that she received unwanted attention from women who wanted to know things about her father.

– There was a serious problem with women wanting my father, says Gwendlyn in the video clip, according to US Weekly.

This became a particular problem at school, says the reality profile.

– I had a teacher at one point, and I had to change classes because it became so uncomfortable (…). She was weird, so weird.

Opens up about marital troubles

– She spent half the hour telling me how much she loved my family. I was like, ‘I just want to learn Spanish, woman,'” she claims.

The police at the door

On the YouTube channel, Gwendlyn constantly shares events from her unusual life.

She previously claimed in a video that her father risked arrest for living a polyamorous life.

– The police actually came to our door when I was a child and said “you have to leave.” We are going to arrest your father”, she has previously told.

It was not told why the police appeared at the door. Gwendlyn also didn’t say anything about what made Kody escape arrest.

After triple divorce: – Not friends

Until 2020, practicing polygamy was illegal in the US state and punishable by up to five years in prison. Now the practice has been decriminalised, and is only punished if violence or coercion is involved.

Today, however, Kody Brown is not living a polyamorous life, and has only one wife left.

In November 2021, the news came that Kody and Gwendlyn’s mother Christine had gone their separate ways.

Earlier this year, Christine announced that she had found love again with David Woolley (59), and in April they got engaged.
