The Umbrian parliamentarians of the Democratic Party, Anna Ascani and Walter Verini, announced «two amendments to the budget law to continue to keep attention high on the communities of Pierantonio (Umbertide) and Sant’Orfeto (Perugia) affected by the earthquake and to provide resources and support for reconstruction in the territories”.
In particular, the changes proposed by the two Umbrian deputies concern «the financing of the Reconstruction Fund also for 2025 and 2026 with one billion for each year: a portion of the resources will be allocated to reconstruction interventions in the Umbrian territories involved in the 2023 earthquake , 100 million for those linked to the 2019 earthquake”, while the other amendment follows “a request made by local committees, namely to be able to take advantage of the measures already foreseen for the 2016 earthquake – subsidized financing and tax credit – for the reconstruction private”, never introduced due to the March 2023 earthquake that hit Pierantonio and Sant’Orfeto. «We must accompany the territories in the tiring process of reconstruction», conclude Ascani and Verini according to which «this right-wing government has too often neglected citizens in difficulty».
