The Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky and the Minister of Defense of Ukraine Rustem Umerov visited the command posts of the Ukrainian army on the front line, according to Syrsky’s official Facebook account.
Sirsky describes the situation at the front as follows: “The enemy regularly storms the positions of our troops. In many areas, the situation is complex and requires constant monitoring.”
According to Sirski, the necessary further actions include “protecting the troops from drones and airstrikes with UAB (guided aerial bombs – ed.), as well as strengthening certain sections of the front.”
The Ukrainian military reports that after the capture of the town of Avdeevka in the Donetsk region, Russian troops are conducting assault operations in several sectors of the front, including in the Donetsk region, as well as in the direction of Kupyansk, Kharkiv region and in the area of the village of Rabotino in the Zaporozhye region.
The capture of Avdeyevka, after months of fighting with heavy casualties on both sides, was Russia’s first significant victory since the capture of the town of Bakhmut last May. The town of Avdeyevka held symbolic significance for both sides – the town has been contested territory since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war in 2014 and has been a de facto frontline for the entire decade.
