In a large part of the province of Gelderland, no siren went off this afternoon. A test with the alarm is carried out nationally every first Monday of the month at 12:00 noon.
Broadcasting Gelderland reports that it remained quiet in Gelderland-Midden and Gelderland-South. According to a spokesperson for the Gelderland-Midden Safety Region, the test with the sirens could not be carried out due to pressure at the control room. The button for the air-raid alarm in Gelderland-South must also be pressed at that control room in Arnhem.
The test is performed manually by dispatchers at the control room, but according to a spokesperson, they were handling an incident at 12:00 noon. What that entailed is unknown.
The air-raid siren sounded in the North and East Gelderland region. There the button is pressed at the control room in Apeldoorn.
