The Roberto Plasencia Saldaña Bicentennial Theater of the Guanajuato Cultural Forum, presents the children’s show Sir Coquín and Princess Carlinda, a magical medieval-musician adventure, with the interpretations of the mezzo-soprano Carla López-Speziale and the actor Jorge Cervantes.

In this adventure, with medieval, renaissance and baroque music – performed live with ancient instruments – Coquin, a clown who is afraid of children and whose job it is to keep a theater clean, cannot help daydreaming and frequently flies his imagination. When he accidentally discovers the public, he mistakes them for the “Dragon with a Thousand Heads”, whom he has been chasing in his games.

Cleared up the confusion, Coquin he shares his secret with the public: the theater is a magical place, where it is only necessary to dream and imagine for the greatest wishes to come to pass. Coquin, for example, he has always dreamed of being a knight errant to defend all those who, like him, are the mockery of the thousand-headed dragon, due to his big feet and his red nose.

To get your commitment, Coquin must face a series of exciting adventures that will take you through time to Maginia, a kingdom that he himself created with his imagination. Turned into a peasant, a fairy appears to him who promises to fulfill his wish, as long as Find four fundamental values ​​for every gentleman: Nobility, Honor, Justice and Courage.

The mezzo-soprano Carla López-Speziale is recognized for her very beautiful, warm voice, with a safe and smooth high register and a powerful low register, she has been the winner of competitions such as that of the Licia Albanese-Puccini Foundation, the Vincenzo Bellini in Italy, of the District of New York of the Auditions of the National Council of the Metropolitan Opera and the Carlo Morelli National Singing Competition.
