The national arrival of Sinterklaas will take place this year in the South Holland municipality of Hellevoetsluis, the NTR announced on Wednesday. The entry will take place on Saturday 12 November.
Milène Junius, mayor of Hellevoetsluis, is delighted. “We are looking forward to welcoming Sinterklaas in Hellevoetsluis on November 12! Our beautiful fortified harbor has existed for no less than four hundred years and a lot has already happened in this port in that time. Now the arrival of Sinterklaas has been added.”
Junius also says she hopes to see “a lot of happy faces on the quays”. Due to the corona measures, the national entry could not take place in the past two years, but some things were organized at Soestdijk Palace, which had been renamed Grotepietenhuis. The Sinterklaas news starts this year on Monday 7 November.
