JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin is grateful that the Indonesian government can get four types vaccine Covid-19 from the producing country so that it can be used for immunization for the community.

He said that Indonesia’s steps were relatively good to get the four vaccines available because many countries had not been able to get them.

“These four vaccines are a problem in supply, the whole world is being scrambled. Not all of ASEAN have got it, Australia has just got it, Japan is just starting, our neighbors haven’t started,” he said.

Meanwhile, Minister of Health Budi said that vaccinations outside the government or through the private sector are allowed as long as they get the legality of security from the relevant authorities, such as the World Health Organization and the Food and Drug Administration.

According to him, as long as it passes the safety test from the relevant authorities, it should not hesitate to use it.

“My message is as long as you pass the WHO, BPOM, just use it. The sooner the better,” he said.

The speed with which people get vaccines, he said, can reduce the number of morbidity and deaths due to COVID-19.

The more it is delayed, the more victims will fall.

“Every day 300 people die, 9 thousand a month. If we postpone it for a year, 108 thousand people will die. Imagine how many people in neighboring countries are late in vaccinating how many humans we cannot protect,” he said.
