Recently, the concept of ‘active seniors’ has emerged as a social phenomenon, with retirees actively engaging in social activities. These individuals are breaking away from traditional, passive images of aging, enjoying a variety of hobbies while maintaining a healthy lifestyle. The Sinor app has seen over 1,000 nationwide gatherings in areas like travel, dance, walking, reading, and wine, with the dance sector chosen as the theme for the inaugural senior festival. The ‘Seniors, Let’s Play Together’ festival reflects this changing social landscape, featuring diverse programs such as a senior dance flash mob, a male and female senior model show, competitions among qualifying senior dance teams, a talk healing concert with Dr. Choi Chang-ho, and group meetings for reminiscing among those aged 50-60.
Kim Min-ji, the CEO of Sinor, emphasized the festival’s purpose, stating, “Through this event, we aim to change societal perceptions of seniors and widely showcase the passion and confidence of seniors that has often gone unnoticed. We hope to cultivate a more active and enriched leisure culture for the elderly.”
Those wishing to participate can search for ‘Sinor’ online and register in advance through the official Sinor website. The first 500 pre-registrants and 500 attendees who arrive on the day of the event will receive a special senior gift kit. The gift kit includes popular products such as IlDong Foodis’ ‘High Mune’, Innobain Korea’s ‘Genu’ protein coffee mix, Aminotree’s ‘Silk Chaeum’ immune protein, and Natural Dream’s ‘Deep Water’.
Additionally, various products from sponsors will be showcased on-site, including Maeil Dairy’s Selex Golden Milk, Ostralife, Interpark Tour’s group travel packages, and Goyo Academy’s senior wellness programs.
