Brazil’s governor of São Paulo brings China’s Sinovac vaccine [AFP=연합뉴스]
– The Chinese government has approved the general use of a novel coronavirus infectious disease (Corona 19) vaccine developed by its domestic pharmaceutical company Sinobac. Clinically, this vaccine has been shown to be less prophylactic than other vaccines.
According to Reuters news agency on the 6th (local time), Sinobaek said that Chinese health authorities had approved their vaccine for general use. It means that Chinese citizens can get the Sinobac vaccine. Sinobag previously received emergency approval for use in July last year. Until now, vaccinations have been made only for high-risk corona19 groups, such as airports, quarantine workers, and medical staff.
Despite this approval, the view of the medical community is that the effectiveness of the Synovac vaccine is still questionable. Synovac announced on the 5th that it showed 50.65% of corona 19 prevention effects in a phase 3 clinical trial conducted in Brazil and Turkey. On the other hand, the vaccine efficacy of Pfizer-Bioentechnamodena was 95% and 94.5%, respectively.
