Africa-Press – Mali. The Mali hospital, through the Minister of Health and Social Development, Mrs. Diéminatou Sangaré, received a donation of materials and equipment. This donation, which was officially handed over on Monday, March 06, 2023, comes from the Chinese medical mission.
It has been 55 years since the sending of a Chinese medical mission to Mali has been effective, since cooperation between Mali and China in the field of health continues to climb. This in order to enhance the medical capacity of Mali.
Speaking, the Minister of Health and Social Development Diéminatou Sangaré, recalled that in 2022, the hospital in Mali recorded an acceptable result with the achievement of more than 100% of the planned activities thanks to the close collaboration between Chinese and Malian professionals. But also thanks to the technical and material support that China regularly brings to Mali.
Minister Diéminatou Sangaré expressed his joy at receiving this new donation from China for the benefit of the hospital in Mali, the aim of which is not only to strengthen the capacity of the staff but also to improve working conditions. Staff.
“This donation, which has a value of 17,3652,000 FCFA, is made up of medicines for public use, materials and equipment of advanced technological level, such as the image intensifier, the use of which will allow us to raise the level of the technical platform. of the hospital and will be an invaluable contribution to the care of Malians who need so much,” exclaims the Minister of Health and Social Development Diéminatou Sangaré.
The Head of the Department of Health and Social Development, in her speech, wished to thank the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China for his constant support in the fight against Covid-19 disease in Mali . She also wanted to thank all the Chinese people for their openness and reassured them that the materials and equipment received will be used for the benefit of the Malian people.
As for the Chinese ambassador to Mali, CHEN Zhihong, he hinted that, to support the work of the Chinese medical mission and improve the functioning of the hospital in Mali where the Chinese medical mission is already working, China offers each year a batch of medicine and medical equipment.
For the Ambassador of the Republic of China, this donation reflects the Sino-Malian friendship, but also the combined efforts of the two countries to constantly strengthen medical cooperation and build together a community with a shared future.
The opportunity was perfect for Mr. CHEN Zhihong to reiterate China’s commitment to work within the framework of bilateral cooperation in health and other fields with Mali.
It should be noted that the hospital in Mali, which is a 3rd referral hospital, was donated by the People’s Republic of China. It was inaugurated in 2010 and equipped largely for the first time by the Chinese.
