The war was visible in the everyday life of Sinna’s host family.
Mightily Au Pairit series will start again on May 8 with a new season.
Au pair There receives as a host family a Ukrainian family that has fled the war first to Germany and then to Malta. The family’s uncle and some relatives stayed in Ukraine.
Sinna tells Iltalehti that the war was reflected in the family’s everyday life and the children’s behavior in a heartbreaking way. According to Sinna, a lot of rockets are fired in Malta, which were clearly visible from the balcony of the family’s home.

Children were afraid of rockets, because their sounds reminded them of war.
– It brought tears to my eyes when I saw how the children got scared. Even the mother of the family said she gets chills when she hears bangs. It immediately reminded him of war. I didn’t know how to think like that or even notice those sounds myself, Sinna said.

There were also wildfires in Malta during filming, which scared the family’s children a lot.
– Those children started crying when they saw it and said that we are about to burn alive.
According to Sinna, children used to eagerly go to the toy shelves in the store, but they avoided the toy guns from afar. When Sinna and the family celebrated Halloween, no one wanted to wear ugly costumes that would remind them of the war.
