Sink Cleaning – Cleans itself

Do you have a stainless steel sink that you can’t clean or do you need advice on how to wash it? There are many methods you can use and most likely you have everything you need to wash it well.

– It is easier to keep something clean than to clean it. So we recommend that you wash the sink after each use. Remove stains and spills immediately, advises Vibeke Scanvenius, CityMaid’s marketing and communications manager.

Simple tips

– Fill the bowl with hot water and insert a dish tablet. Let it run for about 30 minutes before unplugging, Orkla consumer expert Malin Skaar advises.

Scavenius also confirms to DinSide that it cleans a lot with a dishwashing tablet.

Another tip you can try, according to Skaar, is to use water and some chlorine.

– Fill the tub with cold water and a little chlorine. Let it sit for a while before removing the cap and rinsing with clean water, explains Skaar.

Baking powder can be an eco-friendly alternative.

– You can sprinkle a couple of tablespoons of baking soda or baking powder in the bowl. Pour boiling water over it and leave it for some time, explains Scavenius.

You should avoid this

One option for making the sink clean and beautiful is, for example, to sprinkle lemon residue on it.

– Lemon is an acid and can be used to remove stains, as long as it is washed off later. Otherwise, the pelvis can be damaged, explains Scavenius.

There are, however, a few things you should stay away from to keep the sink clean.

– You should avoid ammonia, bleach, or coarse abrasive creams, as well as coarse microfiber, which can scratch stainless steel, says CityMaid’s chief of marketing and communications.

– These can damage the surface of the sink, he warns.
