SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES receives order for a new pilot system for the production of CIGS solar modules

Kahl am Main, August 9th, 2021 – SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG (SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES) receives the order for the delivery of a pilot system of the next generation of selenization systems of the type CISARIS CX3. After the development work with the process modules delivered in 2020 was successful, the use of the CISARIS CX3 in pilot production in Germany is planned.
SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES supplies systems for selenization (CISARIS), cathode sputtering (VISTARIS) and vapor deposition (SELENIUS) for the production of CIGS modules for the various CNBM locations in China. In particular, the CISARIS selenization system has already been delivered to CNBM’s production sites several times and represents the heart of the CIGS solar module production. It is planned that this new generation of machines will be used for the future production sites and the further capacity expansion of the CIGS plants.

Stefan Rinck, Chairman of the Management Board of SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES AG: “We have been working with this customer on the development and optimization of the CISARIS type selenization systems since 2008. Our CISARIS selenization systems are an important step in the entire production process. The CIGS thin-film technology from CNBM will meet the higher demands in the future even more through the use of the new systems. With the new CISARIS CX3 selenization system, production costs are significantly reduced and both cell performance and production output are increased. As a result, the CIGS technology will be even more efficient and competitive in the future. “
The production capacities for CIGS solar modules in China are expected to increase significantly in the coming years. SINGULUS TECHNOLOGIES is involved in all important investments in China with machines for the various CIGS processes.
