In November 2002, a year before his 60th birthday, Václav Neckár suffered a stroke. He collapsed on stage while filming a TV show. His condition was very serious and his relatives feared the worst. He couldn’t move or speak. A stroke temporarily deprived him of speech and memory. For six months he hasn’t been able to put together a complete sentence. He confused genres, confused vowels, and forgot the lyrics of all his songs. The speech therapist gradually taught him to speak.
