– Chanter Tung Duong: In my opinion, those who don’t like my singing are because they haven’t met me in real life. If they get in touch with me, they will definitely think about it again (laughs). It’s just a joke, it’s just a hobby I’m nhạc It’s different for each person. So it’s normal that some people don’t like listening to me sing.
. The two songs “Phoenix Wings” and “Men Don’t Need to Cry” make people who share the same frequency as Tung Duong cry and laugh. Are you disappointed that these songs didn’t make the Top Trending?
– Being in Top Trending is fun, but if I don’t get in there, I still have a certain audience waiting for products like this. I am music that has lasting vitality. I will remain fascinated and passionate about my own musical universe. But I also know how to create balance for myself. Covering youth music is a way of balancing what I love and what I sing for the audience.
. Looking back over 20 years of singing, what are you most satisfied with?
– Being myself is what satisfies me. I am proud of 13 signing awards, 13 live shows and numerous albums that have left their mark on music listeners. However, saying that I am satisfied is not enough, because I understand my own strengths and limitations. With a curious mind, I always aim for creativity without losing my own identity.
. Tung Duong is a star, that’s clear. But is his position as stable as his performance, because there are many promising young singers currently?
– Healthy competition is a positive thing because it helps artists improve. Everyone will have their own values and will be able to fight in their musical sky. If you give your all, you will always receive the true value you created.
. Where and when did Tung Duong sing with such depth and passion?
– I take that as a compliment but also as an expectation that I have to keep the fire going. It was time and contemplation of life that gave me the training to always sing well. My passion for art always motivates me to truly live with my work. Every time I appear on stage, I always show everything that the work has, regardless of the genre. I’m proud and happy to show what comes out, for example, when singing jazz comes out jazz, singing RnB with a hook comes out RnB, rock comes out rock…
. What was your brightest period?
– Every achievement that happens to you is the brightest period, so make the most of it. The shine also passes very quickly if we stop, we think that we are enough, we have reached the summit.
. Tung Duong’s success, if divided into percentages based on luck, talent and effort, what would it look like?
– I remember there was a talk show with the artist Tran Hieu. When asked this exact question, Uncle Hieu and I gave opposite answers. I think 50% is God-given talent, the other 45% is practice and learning, and only 5% is luck. While seniors think only 20% is talent, the rest is just magnetism. I’m lucky to have natural talent, but if I don’t practice and learn, I’ll fall behind very quickly.
. For those who are not properly trained, do you think that after an initial success, they can go further?
– Always remember that in any era, you always have to be passionate and do your best to succeed. We can’t be lucky forever if we don’t have real talent. Without proper training, you can still succeed. The most important thing is to get on the right track.
. After more than 20 years of earning a living, are you influenced by showbiz vanity?
– It’s not good to say that I’m outside of showbiz, but it’s also not bad that I’m always transparent. When I finished singing, I returned to my family’s trip to recharge.
. Tung Duong’s prediction about music trends in the coming years?
– For someone like me who rarely follows trends, predictions are not necessarily correct. But in my opinion, the trend will always focus on individual colors. Young people from generation Z and alpha will have their own world perspective, always updated and developed according to the general flow of world music.
. What quality do you think most represents masculinity?
– The manhood of each person is to live honestly, sincerely, generously and righteously. Try to be more economical, women will leave you immediately (laughs)!
.What are your upcoming projects?
– After the release of the 2 MVs “Phoenix Wings” and “Men Don’t Need to Cry”, these 2 songs are in Tung Duong’s next album entitled “Multiverse”, each song represents a universe. November 1 will be the 23rd concert of her singing career. In this live performance, Tung Duong and his team will perform the theme “Singing Man”. I hope everything goes well so that I can sing loudly to serve my dear fans.
“Artists must have an artistic mission and act as cultural figures to inspire the public. Inspire with passion, work hard and always be careful in your steps…” – expressed Tung Duong.
