Singer SZA denies that she was a minor during a relationship with Drake | NOW

Singer SZA says she was not a minor when she had a relationship with rapper Drake. Through Twitter let them know that the relationship happened in 2009 and not 2008 like Drake raps on a recently released song.

Drake can be heard on the song along with 21 Savage and Metro Boomin Mr. Right Now. The Canadian artist raps that he was dating the singer in 2008.

“That was in 2009,” SZA corrects him after fans wondered whether the singer, born in November 1990, was a minor during the relationship. She states that in this case it does matter that Drake was a year off. “I think he ’08’ (eight) just wanted to rhyme with ‘waitAccording to the singer, anyone who knew her at the time can confirm that the relationship took place in 2009.

SZA says she wanted to speak out about this, because she wants to make it clear that there was nothing wrong with their relationship. “It was completely innocent and years ago,” she concludes. The 29-year-old singer and the 33-year-old rapper are still friends.

Born as Solána Imani Rowe, SZA released her debut album in 2017 and scored her biggest hit to date with All The Stars, a collaboration with Kendrick Lamar. She also recorded songs on Calvin Harris, Justin Timberlake, The Weeknd and Maroon 5.
