Singer-songwriter Oldřich Janota has died – Novinky

He was born on August 27, 1949 in Pilsen. He labored as a mail provider, an evening watchman, a stoker.

He began enjoying guitar in 1966 and has been touring because the early sixties and early seventies. His lyrics have been stuffed with unique twists, fantasy, thriller and philosophy, his guitar was not peculiar like most others.

Within the years 1977 to 1979 he labored within the group Pentagram, within the years 1980 to 1983 he was the principle determine of the group Mozart Okay, which belonged to the wonderful folks rock bands of the time due to the bizarre instrumentation and his particular songs.

Within the early Seventies and Eighties, he performed with Irena and Vojtěch Havel, and his idea of music was very near new age. Between 1983 and 1985 he collaborated with Pavel Richter and Luboš Fidler, and of their work they principally used musical minimalism.

His albums Oldřich Janota (1990), Invisible Issues (1990), Yellow (1994), Notebooks (1997), Podzimní král (2000), Excessive Constancy (2001), Jako měsí (2003), Ora professional nobis (2009) ), Dedication of the New Moon (2011), Kojoko (2014), Final Nothing (2016), Do You Bear in mind, Honey? (2022) and Zatlanka (2022).

He was a member of the improvisation society Astar one other time (revealed the album Hvězdná mapa, 1993). The oldest textual work is included within the publication Ty texty (1991). In 2009, the album Misplaced within the World: A Tribute to Oldřich Janota was revealed, on which a number of musicians play Janota’s songs.

He was the writer of a number of books containing each poetry and fiction. He was the writer of the opera Mirror Goat (2016) and the theater play Chained Flea (2021).
