Canadian singer Shawn Mendes puts an end to his worldwide tour. Concerts in the United States and Europe are cancelled. Mendes says on Instagram that his mental health is playing tricks on him.

“I started this tour very enthusiastically because after a long break due to the pandemic I could finally perform live again. But the reality is that I was not prepared for how hard touring would be after such a long time,” writes the singer. .

‘Premature’
Mendes, 23, announced earlier this month that he would be taking a three-week break from his tour schedule. At the time, he called the decision to go back to performing fully “premature”.

“Now that I’ve talked more with my amazing team of medical professionals, it’s even clearer that I need to take time for myself, which I’ve never done before, to get closer to myself and come back stronger,” he writes now.

On July 15 and 16 next year Mendes would be in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam with his Wonder World Tour. Those concerts are therefore cancelled.

Mendes promises his fans that he will perform again when he has had enough time to recover. In the meantime, the singer will continue to make new music.
