Singer Sandra Timmerman hit by brain haemorrhage: condition critical

The singer from Oldenzaal suddenly became unwell while driving last week. Since then, her condition has been life-threatening.

TV documentary

Sandra received a lot of respect last month with her performance in a documentary about the turbulent lives of her and her parents. It was one of the most watched TV programs of the night.

In 2018 she published the book Circuskind. She described the book as “an interim review of my life so far.” The title for the book was very deliberately chosen: “Always smiling at the outside world as if everything is fine. Doing your trick, tiptoeing, balancing.”

In Circuskind she also discussed the abuse in her youth by her father. “It’s just part of my life. I have not chosen that, but I am saddled with it,” she said in an interview at RTV Oost. “You take it with you, you always have it with you.”

‘Anything but boring’

Yet Timmerman always stated that her childhood was “not all doom and gloom”. “It was anything but boring.”

Timmerman has three children and several grandchildren about which she proudly told RTV Oost in 2018. “I am very happy and very rich in that regard. I am very positive about the future.” She recently announced that she wanted to work on a new career.
