Tīna represented Latvia with the song “The Moon Is Rising”, which tells about a woman’s strength and invitation to everyone to be aware of their own value and beauty, without submitting to society’s standards and stereotypes.
The Latvian representative entered the Eurovision final for the last time in 2015, when Justs Sirmais overcame the semi-final barrier with the song “Heartbeat” written by Aminatas Savadogo and took the 15th place in the competition final.
On Thursday, performers from Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Iceland, Moldova, Portugal, San Marino, Serbia, Finland and Switzerland advanced ahead of Tina and reached the final of the competition.
39 countries are participating in the 65th International Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam, the Netherlands. The final, which will feature 26 songs, will take place on May 22.
