Singer PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ music video surpassed 5 billion views on YouTube for the first time in K-pop.

According to his agency P-Nation, the music video for ‘GANGNAM STYLE’ posted on PSY’s official YouTube set a record of reaching 5.025 billion views on the 30th (as of 1 p.m.).
‘Gangnam Style’ is the title song of PSY’s sixth regular album ‘Psy 6 Part 1’, released in July 2012, and is a mega hit that gave PSY the record of becoming the first K-pop singer to reach 2nd place on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for 7 weeks. It’s a song.
The ‘Gangnam Style’ music video became the first YouTube content to exceed 1 billion views and 2 billion views, becoming an opportunity to change the way YouTube views are counted. In addition, it has been showing a steady increase in the number of views for 11 years, leaving an unusual record.
In addition to ‘Gangnam Style’, Psy also released ‘Gentleman’ 1.5 billion won, ‘Oppa, Just My Style’ 820 million won, ‘Hangover’ 360 million won, ‘DADDY’ 700 million won, and ‘New Face’. They are showing overwhelming power on YouTube with a number of hit songs released, including 290 million views and ‘I LUV IT’ 130 million views.
Psy expressed his feelings through his agency, saying, “The day I first achieved 10 million views, I celebrated with my colleagues and dreamed of reaching 50 million views. I am 100 times happier than the dream I had.”
