Richard Fairbrass (67), the singer of the British band Right Said Fred, known for the irresistible 90s hit ‘I’m too sexy’, was taken to hospital by ambulance last Saturday after a covid-19 infection. The incident does not change Fairbass, a notorious antivaxer.

Six months ago, Fairbass called the corona vaccines “cheating”. He recently contracted the virus and as an unvaccinated he ended up in hospital with respiratory problems last weekend. He himself says that all in all it went well. “I got a little Covid, but it wasn’t too bad. I had a little shortness of breath and felt very tired.”

He had nothing but praise for the care staff at the hospital. “They didn’t condemn my choice and were open about how I wanted to be treated. I just asked to keep my oxygen level up,” says the singer.

His stance on vaccinations is unchanged after the event. “These vaccines are for experimental use only. The test phase will end in 2023 and the long-term effects are not yet known. Anyone who is vaccinated now does not think twice.” When the studies are completed in 2023 and it appears that there are no serious health problems associated with the vaccines, he does want to be open to vaccination.
