Initially, Nick Kamen was known mainly as a model, for example from an advertisement by Levi’s. He tried his first single in 1986 – Each Time You Break My Heart from his eponymous debut album. The duo Madonna and Stephen Bray were behind him, and Madonna sings vocals in the background on this recording. The second single was a cover version of the classic soul group from the 60’s Four Tops called Loving You Is Sweeter Than Ever.

In 1988, Kamen released his second album Us. Madonna helped him again in the song Tell Me. Today, probably the most famous single is I Promised Myself from the album Move Until We Fly. In 1990, it became a hit in most European countries.
