Howe was born on August 21, 1965 in Taylor, Michigan. In 1988, he replaced David Wayne as the lead singer of Metal Church. According to those in the know, that group has had an influence on the thrash metal subgenre.
According to loudwire.com, his arrival had an immediate impact. He was a first-time frontman between 1988 and 1995, with Howe collaborating on albums such as “Blessing in Disguise” (1989), “The Human Factor” (1991) and “Hanging in the Balance” (1993).
However, he gave up music to start a family and earn a living as a carpenter. In 2015, Howe rejoined Metal Church, with whom he made “XI” (2016), “Damned If You Do” (2018) and “From the Vault” (2020).
The singer died yesterday at his home in Eureka, California. A cause of death has not been communicated.
