Quebec singer Marc Hamilton died Thursday after contracting COVID-19, confirms his daughter, Sandy Hamilton.
Born in Matane, the interpreter of the tube How I always want to lovepassed away at the age of 78.
His famous song, released in 1970, sold thousands of copies around the world before being inducted into the Canadian Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2007.
“My condolences to the loved ones of singer Marc Hamilton. All Quebecers of my generation have hummed: ‘As I always want to love…’,” chirped Premier François Legault.
Before his solo career, the artist was notably part of the group Les Caïds, Les Shadols and Les Monstres.
