As Gwangju’s representative humanities festival, ‘Good Morning Yangrim’, is about to open, expectations are rising as celebrities such as painter and singer Jeong Mi-jo and actress Park Jeong-ja decide to participate.

Nam-gu is expected to be able to enjoy various exhibitions, performances, and humanities concert programs held in Yangnim-dong, a representative tourist destination and modern historical and cultural village, providing a memorable time with the deepening scent of autumn.

The 13th Good Morning Yangnim Festival, hosted by Nam-gu and organized by the Nam-gu Cultural Center and the Good Morning Yangnim Promotion Committee, will be held for 9 days from the 18th to the 26th under the theme of ‘Autumn creates jewels in my heart.’

First, in the exhibition field, four programs welcome the audience, including the Yangnim Cultural Figure Exhibition, Gwangju Women’s Life Ceramics Exhibition, Artist Choi Soon-jeong’s Exhibition, and Willow Tree History Photo Exhibition.

At the opening ceremony on the 18th, painter and singer Jeong Mi-jo will perform a celebratory stage, and on the 19th, five performance programs featuring various musicians will be held at the outdoor plaza of the craft street.

Additionally, between the 20th and the closing day, the 26th, performances revealing local intangible cultural heritage and traditional Korean traditional music stages will be held one after another to excite the audience. In particular, the Youth Mike Festa held by young artists from the Jeolla and Jeju regions at Lee Jang-woo’s house and the craft street on the 26th attracts attention.

During the festival, various experience programs in which audiences can participate will be prepared throughout Yangnim-dong.

Starting with ‘If I Became a Poet Kim Hyun-seung’ held at the outdoor plaza of the craft street, there are activities such as making handmade crafts, experiencing characters, caricatures, and calligraphy, Yangnim drawing tour with residents, penguin village slow mailbox, piano performance, etc.

Good Morning Yanglim Promotion Committee Chairperson Han Hee-won said, “Good Morning Yanglim, Gwangju’s representative humanities festival, is about to open,” adding, “This year, we invited people who were difficult to attend to the humanities concert, and we also prepared various programs for local residents and audiences to participate in the festival. “I hope that many people will participate and fall in love with the charm of humanities,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Good Morning Yangnim Festival, which was included in the ‘Local 100 (100 local cultural attractions)’ selected by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism last year, is promoting the charm of local culture by providing various exhibitions and programs using people, space, and content in Yangnim-dong.
