Singer Igo will celebrate its 60th anniversary with concerts throughout Latvia


Riga, May 23, LETA. Singer Igo will celebrate its 60th anniversary on June 29, which he has decided to celebrate with concerts and exhibitions throughout Latvia, producer Sandis Mohovikovs told LETA.

He points out that the first concert will take place on the musician’s 60th birthday in Liepaja’s renovated open-air concert hall “Pūt vējiņi”. The anniversary concerts will also be performed in Jūrmala, Dzintari Concert Hall, Saulkrasti Stage, Jelgava Open-Air Concert Hall “Mītava”.

The end of the summer concert series will take place on the Roja open-air stage, the next concerts are planned in the concert hall “Cēsis”, Latgale embassy “Gors” and Ventspils theater house “Jūras vārti”.

The concerts will feature Igo’s “golden repertoire” from the groups “Līvi”, “Remix”, “Liepāja brāļi”, as well as excerpts from Zigmars Liepiņš’s rock opera “Lāčplēsis”, the opera “Our Lady of Paris Cathedral” and other works. A musical group led by Jānis Strazdas will take part in the concerts.

Mohovikov notes that for the last ten years Igo has also been actively involved in the visual arts. Top graphics, self-designed items and dish series. Every year Igo’s works are displayed in exhibitions in Latvia and abroad. The next upcoming exhibition, which will feature Igo graphics and utensils, will be on view at the Culture Palace “Ziemeļblāzma” in April and May.
