Indeed, according to the Sunday newspaper, Françis Lalanne was placed in police custody in Marseille after a complaint from his ex-partner who accused him of domestic violence. The police arrested the singer on Tuesday May 2 and he spent more than 24 hours in police custody before being released.
Information confirmed by the Marseille prosecutor’s office to the JDD, which also specifies that “the investigation is continuing and a decision should be taken soon in this case”.
Francis Lalanne’s lawyer, Me Emmanuel Ludot, clarified that his client “disputed the alleged facts”.
This is the second police custody in a few weeks for the artist, who had already been heard on February 18 for acts of “moral harassment” towards his ex-girlfriend.
In this case, Francis Lalanne was sentenced to 800 euros accompanied by a ban on coming to the victim’s home. Measure which he refused according to his lawyer. The singer will therefore have to appear before the criminal court in this case.
