Singer Fadl Chaker sentenced to 22 years in prison

The Lebanese military court handed down two verdicts in absentia against the Lebanese singer, Fadl Chaker, accused of having joined the extremist group of Ahmed al-Assir.

According to the al-Arabiya channel, the court sentenced Fadl Chaker to 22 years in prison. The court ordered that Shaker be deprived of his civil rights, for having been involved in criminal terrorist acts, perpetrated by terrorists and for providing logistical aid to terrorists.

As for the second verdict, the Lebanese singer was sentenced to seven years in prison and a fine of 5 million Lebanese pounds, depriving him of all civil rights, for having financed the armed group of al-Assir and provided the money needed to acquire weapons and ammunition.
