The famous musician was on a ski trip when he ended up in the drama at Prestholtseter in Geilo on Boxing Day.
The artist has a Spellman award and is known for song of the year and newcomer of the year under P3 Gold in 2015.
The singer with the song “Du fortenar ein som meg” later participated in Kompani Lauritzen and came second as “The Wolf” in Maskorama.
Alongside his career as an artist, Daniel Kvammen (35) has achieved respectable times in the half marathon (1 hour and 17 minutes) and 10 kilometers (35.29), and it was during a training trip on skis that Kvammen had to step in with other skills.
Allergic reaction
While he was having lunch inside Prestholtseter, he saw that a worried mother contacted the staff.
– I quickly realized that the mother was very worried, Kvammen tells NRK.
It turned out that her son had eaten a cake with nuts and started having trouble breathing.
Nut allergies can in some cases cause life-threatening reactions.

Had a scooter without a driver
The woman who runs the place knows Kvammen well. He lives not too far away, and has held an Easter concert at the site in recent years.
– The mother was terrified, and we had to get the boy down from the mountain. I was alone at work, so the only option was to get someone else to take our scooter, says Tanja Seim, who runs the cafe.
She went over to Kvammen.
– I said that I hadn’t ridden a scooter in 15 years, but that I might as well try. It’s like riding a bicycle, roughly, he says.

Saved
With the boy and his mother on the scooter, Kvammen drove to Havsdalen ski center just over 7 kilometers away, where they were met by a ski patrol. The mother and the boy were then taken to emergency room in Geilo.
They stayed there for several hours, but it was not life-threatening as the mother feared.
The boy has now received allergy medicine and the family is back at the cabin at Ustaoset.
– Now all that remains is to give them the skis. They are still standing here, says Tanja Seim at Prestholtseter.

The family lives in Stockholm and did not know Daniel Kvammen before, but now they have downloaded his music and learned that he is the “Wolf” from Maskorama.
They had heard him sing in church on Christmas Eve, but did not make the connection that it was the same person until after the scooter ride and the visit to the emergency room.
“It was me and my son you drove down from the mountain today. We are indescribably grateful as it could have quickly gone wrong, he has a very severe nut allergy, so I was really terrified.” writes the mother in a message to Kvammen.
The woman does not want to be interviewed in the media about the case, but thinks it is okay for NRK to cover the incident.
