August in Munich is all about Adele: the singer will be playing ten concerts in a concert village built especially for her. The kick-off was on August 2nd, and not everything went as planned.

The weather initially thwarted the superstar’s plans, but the show was delayed and Adele became extremely emotional on stage during one of her songs.

Heavy rain at Adele concert in Munich

The weather forecast was not ideal, and fans actually had to endure ten minutes of heavy rain on Friday. As a result, Adele did not take the stage until 8:15 p.m. instead of 7:30 p.m., but the turbulence was quickly forgotten.

When the performance begins with the super hit “Hello”, the 80,000 people at the Munich trade fair celebrate the singer frenetically. With the words “I’m so damn sad that it’s so wet. Hi guys!”Adele greets her audience. But she doesn’t let it spoil her mood either.

She is visibly overwhelmed by the location, and at one point she reveals: “I have never done anything like this in my entire life.” Adele also admits loudly “Bild“, “to be so nervous”.

The fans could hardly have wished for more action that evening. Sometimes she walks across the stage with an Oktoberfest beer mug (“I can really drink. Really! I’m British!”), then she supports a couple during a marriage proposal.

Towards the end of the show the song “Someone Like You” is on the program. “This song changed my life. For some reason, this song touches me so much tonight. More than usual. Thank you,” Adele says loudly “Mirror“.

The attempt to start the song fails at first. Adele stops, takes out her headphones and asks the band to start again. She also leaves the singing to the fans for now. “I want to hear you all sing first,” she asks the audience – and she doesn’t have to tell her fans that twice.

The images of the 2023 Wacken Festival are still circulating in many people’s minds: endless rain, cars stuck in the mud, and the entrance gates being closed. A challenge not only for all helpers and guests, but also for everyone who was in a wheelchair on site.
