Dakar March 14 (APS) – Singer and lyricist Thione Seck died in Dakar at the age of 66 on Sunday, APS has learned from sources close to his family.
The vocal lead of Raam Daan died after a short illness, according to the author of the book “Words of Thione Ballago Seck, an inspired and prolific poet”, the journalist Fadel Lo.
Thione Seck, from a family of griots, began music with large orchestras of the time, notably the Dakar Star band then the Baobab Orchestra, before creating his group the Raam Daan
Thione Seck is the father of the famous young singer Waly Ballago Seck.
