Singer Amir in Auxerre for the release of his new album: “I talk about very intimate things”

Singer Amir was in Auxerre on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 for a signing session at the Leclerc cultural center. For the occasion, he answered our questions.

Passing through Auxerre to sign his new album C Amirthe singer answered our questions.

You are releasing a new album four years after the last one. Why such a long break? I needed to take a break, to get closer to my family. I had a long mourning phase with the death of my mother. I needed to recharge my batteries. And then I decided to make this album to free myself from my thoughts. We wrote it with friends while locking ourselves in a house in the south for ten days. It was an explosion of creativity. We took turns day and night. The album could have been longer, but I stuck to the fundamentals. I didn’t want to say too much.

We feel that this album was a lifesaver for you… Yes, I found a certain inner peace. This album had a double utility. It both soothed me, because I was able to extract things from my heart, and made me proud. Especially when I see people’s feedback. It’s surely the album where I bare myself the most. I talk about very intimate things.

Amir soon on tour with his new album: “In 2025, we will be on stage”

Were you apprehensive about this return? A little yes, because the break was long. I refocused on my family in a peaceful life, less engaging. In addition, it is the most personal album and I did not know how the public would react.

Verdict with your Auxerre public? I am incredibly happy and surprised by the feedback on the album. It’s a bit of a comforting mirror. This is the second time I’ve come to Auxerre, I’m always very well received, it’s very nice to see children, parents and even grandparents come to see me.

What’s next for you? Are you planning a tour? Yes, I have started preparing the tour, but I am giving myself a period of reflection. I want to do a very different show. It will start in 2025. For now, I don’t have a date in Auxerre, but I will stop in Dijon.
