Singapore’s Reasons Will No Longer Bear The Costs Of Covid Reject Vaccines

Jakarta

Government Singapore take decisive steps for those who refuse the COVID-19 vaccine. It is said that Singapore will no longer bear the costs of COVID-19 patients who have not been vaccinated for personal reasons.

“Starting December 8, all COVID-19 patients who were not vaccinated “by choice” will have to pay their own medical bills if they are admitted to a hospital or COVID-19 treatment facility,” the Ministry of Health (MOH) said, according to CNA.

This rule is not without reason. Singapore’s Ministry of Health said that currently, unvaccinated people make up a sizeable majority of those requiring intensive inpatient care, and disproportionately contribute to the burden of health care resources.

Speaking at a press conference of the multi-ministerial task force, Health Minister Ong Ye Kung said hospitals would prefer not to have to bill unvaccinated COVID-19 patients by choice.

“But we have to send this important signal to urge everyone to get vaccinated if you qualify.”

Persons who are not eligible for vaccination, including children under 12 years of age or patients who are not medically eligible are included in the group that remains funded if exposed to COVID-19.

In the COVID-19 daily report in Singapore, people who have not received the vaccine are one of the vulnerable groups for Corona and experience severe symptoms so they must be treated in the ICU. As of Wednesday (9/11), Singapore recorded an additional 3,397 new cases with 12 deaths from COVID-19.
