Singapore Tourist Falls to Her Death While Taking Photos at New York State Park

Nur Aisyah Binte MD Akbar, a 39-year-old tourist from Singapore, fell to her death while taking photos with her husband on the edge of a cliff in a New York state park.

According to authorities, the woman Fell 70 Feet After Slipping Off Cliff While On Hiking Trip with her husband Abdul Rauf Bin Mohd Said in the Hudson Valley region on Friday, the New York State Police (NYSP) said.

The woman and her husband stopped to take photos at the edge of a cliff on Beacon Hill Trail in Minnewaska State Park when she “lost balance” and fell on the side on Friday afternoon, posted today New York Post.

Her husband, also a native of Singapore, called 911. Several agencies converged on the scene in Rochester Park.

The NYSP aviation unit lifted the victim from where he landed and took him to Ellenville Regional Hospital in Ulster County, where he was pronounced dead. The incident remains under investigation.

In August, a teenage tourist from Brooklyn (NYC) apparently drowned after jumping from the edge of a waterfall in the Catskill Mountains in upstate New York.

In June, a 60-year-old tourist died when the boat he was riding in capsized near Niagara Falls in New York, on the border with Canada.
