SINGAPORE, TRIBUNBATAM.id – Riau Islands Province (Kepri) is wary of transmitting monkeypox or monkeypox after neighboring Singapore reported a case of the disease.
The Riau Islands Province is also known to have a number of entrances for foreign travelers, including those from Singapore and Malaysia, especially the entrances to international sea routes.
Singapore, neighboring the Riau Islands, previously reported 10 cases of monkeypox as of July 26, 2022.
The case is an accumulation since June 2022.
Although no patients with monkeypox have been found in the country, the Riau Islands Provincial Government as the outermost region of the Republic of Indonesia which borders a number of countries continues to take precautions.

One of them, the Riau Islands Provincial Health Office has distributed a ‘special’ Circular (SE).
The circular contains vigilance for monkeypox or monkeypox to all regencies and cities in the Riau Islands Province.
The circular was also issued to follow up on the circular issued by the Indonesian Ministry of Health regarding the awareness of monkeypox disease in non-enemic countries.
“We have made and distributed a circular of vigilance. So far, no cases of monkeypox have been found in Riau Islands,” said Head of the Riau Islands Provincial Health Office, Mochammad Bisri who was interviewed, Monday (1/8/2022).
Bisri said in the circular that was distributed, if it was found that a patient suspected of suffering from monkeypox had to take further action immediately.
