Singapore Reveals Reason for UAS Deportation: Suicide Bombing Sermon

The Singapore government also said that Somad had made comments that demeaned other religions such as Christianity. Somad is said to have said the cross is the abode of pagan spirits.

In addition, Somad has also stated in public that adherents of religions other than Islam are infidels. This statement is very serious for the Singapore Government, whose population consists of various religious adherents.

“The Singapore government takes seriously anyone advocating violence and/or supporting extremist teachings and segregation. Somad and his travel companions are denied entry to Singapore,” the Ministry of Home Affairs official website quoted Singapore as saying.

Previously, Ustaz Abdul Somad (UAS) asked the Singaporean Ambassador to Indonesia to explain why he and his family were banned from entering the country. He said the Singapore Immigration officer was unable to explain the reason for his deportation.

Initially, he admitted that he and his family and friends wanted to visit Singapore for a vacation. UAS arrived in Singapore on Monday (16/5) afternoon.

Somad said all the documents to enter Singapore were complete. During the examination process, his wife, children and friends were allowed to enter. But an officer pulled him away.

The officer asked him about this visit. UAS admitted that he came with family and friends for the holidays.

They were then taken to the immigration check room. He admitted that the officers separated the space between him and his entourage.

An hour in the room, he was then transferred and joined his entourage. They were detained for several hours until they were returned to Indonesia.
