President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) was praised as a genius figure by Singaporean Professor Kishore Mahbubani. The Democratic Party (PD) remembers Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) has also been praised.
“We appreciate Kishore Mahbubani’s praise for President Jokowi. This reminds us of the praise from him that was conveyed to Mr. SBY in 2012 ago,” said Deputy for Bappilu of the Democratic Party, Kamhar Lakumani, in a statement, Friday (8/10/2021) .
Kamhar explained SBY has also been praised by Ksihore Mahbubani. In fact, according to him, praise also came from other figures to SBY regarding Indonesia’s ability to handle the economic crisis at that time.
“At that time, not only from Kishore Mahbubani, praise also came from George Soros for the handling of the Indonesian economy, which successfully anticipated and overcame the global economic crisis in 2008 and expressed his confidence in the trend of Indonesia’s economic growth, which is experiencing a super boom, economic growth will be sustainable,” he explained.
Furthermore, Kamhar said that even at that time Kishore Mahbubani called SBY’s achievement the greatest story of all time. He conveyed Kishore’s praise regarding the transformation to economic growth at that time.
“While Kishore Mahbubani apart from praising Indonesia’s ability to overcome the crisis, he also said that the government of President SBY has succeeded in carrying out an extraordinary transformation. The sustained and significant economic growth has given birth to a new middle class. Mahbubani affirms his appreciation for the President’s achievements. SBY this in the statement ‘this is the greatest story of the century’,” he continued.
Then Kamhar assessed that Jokowi was praised as a genius because of his ability to embrace a political opponent, Prabowo Subianto. According to him, Jokowi has indeed managed to avoid division and division in society because he embraced Prabowo into the cabinet.
“There are not many in history, if there is an event like this. The success of turning ‘competitors’ into ‘helpers’ on behalf of and in the spirit of Indonesian unity. Previously, Kishore Mahbubani praised Jokowi as a genius leader. He called Jokowi the most effective leader in the world.
