Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —
Singapore left back, Nur Adam Abdullah, threatens Witan Sulaeman et al ahead of the match Indonesian National team in the first leg of the semifinals AFF Cup 2020 (2021).
Nur Adam is likely to be the first choice against Indonesia to replace Shakir Hamzah, who has a serious knee injury.
The 20-year-old player promised to give his best when facing Garuda troops in the first leg which was held at the National Stadium, Kallang, Singapore, Wednesday (22/12).
“I may be young, but I have confidence and belief that I can play my position very well,” said Nur Adam, quoted from the official website of the Football Association of Singapore (FAS).
“If you look at Indonesia or any other country, players my age have already started playing for their senior national team. If they have already done that, why can’t I?” he continued.
If trusted to appear as a starter, Nur Adam is likely to face Indonesian winger who usually operates on the right, Witan Sulaeman.
Nur Adam promised to perform with high intensity in the first leg of the AFF Cup semi-final against Indonesia.
“I understand international matches are a very different level from the Singapore League. So, I have prepared myself to perform with a higher intensity,” said the Lion City Sailors player.
After undergoing their inaugural match against Indonesia on Wednesday, Singapore will play a life and death match in the second leg which will be played on Saturday (25/12).
