Singapore Detects Second Case of Monkeypox, Experiences Rash in Anus

The MOH said that contact tracing was ongoing and added that this case was not linked to the previously announced cases of monkeypox. Among the five cases of monkeypox in Singapore since June, three are imported cases and two are local cases.

The first is the case of imports. The patient is a 42 year old British citizen who works as a flight attendant. He tested positive on June 20.

The country’s first local infection was reported on July 6, a 45-year-old Malaysian man living in Singapore. Another imported case was confirmed a day later. The 36-year-old Indian national lives in Singapore and recently returned from the United States.
